Question of the day; Does Kombucha Tea really work? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it did not help to improve health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and brewing it, for thousands of years.

Description of Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based beverage that is often drunk for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific information supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the expense of such studies. There are several centuries of popular stories telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold in stores but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also most often referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not really a mushroom. It grows on the very surface of the tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a near whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of a large number):

Testimonial - Crohn's, Acid Reflux: "I recently started brewing Kombucha Tea for myself and decided to share one of my scoby's with a friend that found out this past summer that she had crohns disease. She also suffered from acid reflux for years. After drinking 1 ounce of kombucha tea she found that the next day her crohns disease wasn't bothering her and now it has been 2 or 3 weeks and she has no symptoms of crohns disease and her acid reflux doesn't keep her up at night and she can eat foods she once had to avoid. If she starts to get heart burn after eating she sips one ounce of her tea and it goes away instantly. There are no words to describe how thrilled she is... J.K."

Kombucha Tea safe?

Most ask this question because are aware that some mushrooms are poisonous or they have been told misinformation about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not poisonous. People only call it a mushroom, it is not a mushroom.

Kombucha Tea has been used for health improvement for over two millennium and is now being sold in food and health in the U.S., far less expensive to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The FDA has stated that Kombucha Tea to be a safe beverage provided it is prepared properly in a clean manner so as not to be contaminated by common food pathogens. All foods that you make has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less so for Kombucha as it is a fermented beverage and as it ferments it makes a small amount of alcohol which helps to protect the tea against pathogens.

No one has ever died from drinking correctly made Kombucha Tea and yet millions of people daily drink this remarkable beverage and have done so for thousands of years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but then again some few people might be sensitive to any number of different things. An allergic is usually just a reddening of the skin or a minor.

The tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is permitted to ferment too long to a more sour condition. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you were to very large quantities of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking very large quantities of anything is hardly a smart thing to do.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common household food molds are harmless but a contamination can ruin the taste of the tea. This limited problem can be easily avoided by keeping the fermenting tea properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescription medications.

There is nothing that is naturally dangerous about this beneficial beverage; it is a great tasting drink that can can improve health!
