Question of the week; Does Kombucha Tea really work? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it didn't improve health why have millions of people keep drinking it and brewing it, for thousands of years.

Description of Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based beverage that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal purposes. There is scientific info supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the expense of such medical studies. There are several centuries of anecdotal stories telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold commercially but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also most often referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not really a mushroom. It slowly grows on the surface of the tea while the tea is fermenting and resembles a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of a large number):

Testimonial - Skin, Hair, Service: "I made and drank Kombucha religiously for 3 years and know from experience that the health benefits are phenomonal. The difference in skin and hair are amazing. When we moved to our new home my Kombucha was accidently destroyed. I had tried in vain to find another starter, but everyone I had given one to, and the person who gave me my initial starter, had gotten tired of the brewing process and let their's die. Ironically they had realized the difference and were also looking for a new starter. Last year after finaly venturing into Internet-land I decided to check for Kombucha and found this site. I ordered a starter and have had my wonderful Kombucha tea ever since. This site is wonderful, orders are quickly delivered with much care in the packaging, the Kombucha is authentic not scrap or scam and recently I had reason to call for help with a minor Kombucha problem and the gentleman I spoke with was polite and courteous. He took his time and helped me with my problem step by step. In other words his services are just wonderful. If anyone has any doubts about Kombucha it's great and so is this site and company. I would advise anyone to go Kombucha America and get their starter from this company... The tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is allowed to ferment longer and to a more sour state. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you drink huge amounts of the tea when it is sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking very large amounts of anything is usually not a good idea.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not common. Most common food molds are harmless but they can ruin the taste of the tea.
