Question of the month; Does Kombucha really improve health? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it did not help to improve health why have millions of people have kept drinking it and making it, for over two thousand years.

Description of Kombucha


Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based drink that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal purposes. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the expense of such medical studies. There are several centuries of anecdotal stories supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold commercially but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also most commonly referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not a true mushroom. It slowly grows on the very surface of the tea while the tea is fermenting and resembles a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial - Prostate Cancer: "In January my partner was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer with a PSA of nearly 800. The cancer had spread to the hip and thigh, the pain was insupportable. Kombucha Tea safe?



Most ask this question because they know that some fungi are poisonous or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not toxic. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used for health improvement for over 2000 years and is now being widely sold in health food in the U.S., it is a lot cheaper to make it yourself.

Kombucha Tea is not a drug. The FDA has stated that this remarkable tea to be a safe drink if it is correctly prepared in a clean way so as not to be contaminated by pathogens. All foods that you prepare can become contaminated but the risk is probably less for Kombucha because it is a fermented drink and as it ferments it makes a small amount of alcohol helping to protect it.

Nobody has died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and yet millions of people daily drink this remarkable beverage and have done so for thousands of years. It is safer than aspirin. There are 1000 aspirin related aspirin deaths yearly.

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but some few people may be allergic to any number of things. A reaction is usually just a minor skin blush or itch.

The tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is permitted to ferment too long then it becomes more acidic. Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you drink large amounts of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking large quantities of anything is usually not a wise thing to do.

A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common such molds are harmless but they can spoil the taste of the tea. This small problem is easily avoided by keeping the fermenting tea properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescription drugs.

There is nothing that is naturally dangerous about this beneficial beverage; it is a delicious and safe beverage that can help to improve health!
