Description of KombuchaKombucha is a invigorating tea-based drink that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific info supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the expense of such studies. There are several centuries of popular accounts supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not really a mushroom. It grows on the very surface of the tea while the tea is fermenting and resembles a whitish colored pancake. They love it and don't have any intentions of not drinking it. It has been great for them. My 80 year old grandmother is drinking it also and has gained youthful glow in her face... MLM
