Question of the day; Does Kombucha really improve health? Answer is...Yes! If it did not better health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and brewing it, for thousands of years.

What is Kombucha

Kombucha is a effervescent tea-based drink that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific information supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the cost of such medical studies. There are several centuries of anecdotal stories telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also most commonly referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not a true mushroom. It grows on the surface of the tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and resembles a near whitish colored pancake.

Most ask this question because are aware that some fungi are poisonous or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not toxic. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used as a health remedy for over two millennium and is now being widely sold in health food in the USA, it is a lot cheaper to make it yourself.

Kombucha Tea is not a drug. The FDA has found this remarkable tea to be a safe beverage if it is correctly prepared in a clean way so as not to be contaminated by pathogens. All foods that you make has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less so for Kombucha as it is a fermented beverage and as it ferments it produces a small amount of alcohol which protects the tea from obnoxious pathogens.

No one has died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for over 2000 years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but then again some few people could be allergic to any number of things. A reaction is usually just a reddening of the skin or itch.

The tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is allowed to ferment too long to a more sour condition. Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you drink huge amounts of the tea when it is sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking very large quantities of anything is usually not a good idea.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom may develop a mold but this is not common. Most common food molds are not harmful but a contamination can ruin the taste of the tea. This minor problem can be easily prevented by keeping the brewing jar properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most all prescription medications.

There is nothing that is naturally dangerous about this beneficial beverage; it is a great tasting drink that can help to improve health!

Kombucha Tea - Answering Questions

I am Assunta, I am a software program that can answer questions about Kombucha. I am shy and I am not good at carrying on personal conversations. Only ask me 1 question at a time in a single statement.

Ask and question as simply as possible without spelling errors. If I cannot answer correctly just try rephrasing the question.

I guess at what you are asking by noticing keywords in your question and the pattern in which the keywords are positioned in your question.

I perform best when only asked questions about Kombucha Tea.

I may not know how to answer all questions that are asked, communicating with humans is not easy for me. I am getting better at it day by day as my memory is updated. I am not intelligent enough to give medical advice, if I was I would ask for more money.
