Question of the week; Does Kombucha Tea really work? Answer is...Yes! If it did not help to improve health why would millions of people keep drinking it and making it, for thousands of years.

Description of Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based drink that is often drunk for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific info supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are several centuries of popular accounts telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available commercially but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not a true mushroom. It forms on the very surface of the tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of many):

Testimonial - Colds, Gray Hair: "I drank the tea for 3 years never experiencing any 2 symptoms of the common cold simultaneously and verified the disappearance of gray hair during this time. I wish I hadn't stopped drinking it and look forward to the various combinations of fruits and honey I used to enjoy. The graying that disappeared never came back in that area, but it may have been more widespread. It may need to be ingested for a longer period of time and there were other obvious benefits as well... All foods that you prepare can become contaminated but the risk is probably less for Kombucha as it is a fermented drink which as it ferments it creates a small amount of alcohol which protects the tea from obnoxious pathogens.

No person has ever died from drinking correctly prepared Kombucha Tea and yet millions of people daily drink this remarkable beverage and have done so for over 2000 years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but some few people could be sensitive to any number of different things. A reaction is usually just a minor skin blush or a minor.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is permitted to ferment too long in which case it becomes more sour. Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you drink large amounts of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking huge quantities of anything is hardly a smart thing to do.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not common. Most common food molds are not harmful but they can ruin the taste of the tea.
