Question of the week; Does Kombucha Tea really work? Answer is...Yes! If it did not help to improve health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and brewing it, for thousands of years.

What is Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based drink that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the expense of such medical studies. There are several centuries of anecdotal stories telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also most commonly referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not really a mushroom. It slowly forms on the surface of the fermenting tea while the tea is fermenting and resembles a near whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of a large number):

Testimonial - Bursitis, Energy: "My BURSITIS in my shoulder was so bad I was considering getting the shot for it. I did not have health insurance and this was an expensive (and painful) option. So I ordered the Kombucha cultures and began making my own tea. The first week that I drank my new tea I thought the painful symptoms of my bursitis were going away. Now (after 3 months) I am SURE of it! I can't say I am 100% cured... only about 95%. The difference is amazing! In two months when my insurance kicks in, I will NOT be getting a shot! The other interesting thing is that I take a glass of Kombucha to work with me to drink during my lunch break, I now have more energy to get thru the rest of the day. Thank you Kombucha America!... Kombucha Tea safe?

Most ask this question because they have heard that some fungi are toxic or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not poisonous. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha Tea has been used as a health remedy for over two millennium and is now being sold in health shops and grocery stores in the USA, it is a lot cheaper to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The F.D.A. has stated that Kombucha Tea to be a safe beverage if it is correctly prepared in a clean manner so as not to be contaminated by pathogens. All foods that you prepare can become contaminated but the risk is probably less for Kombucha as it is a fermented beverage which as it ferments it produces a small amount of alcohol helping to protect it.

Nobody has died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for over 2000 years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but then again some few people could be allergic to any number of different things. An allergic is usually just a skin reddening or itch.

The tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is allowed to ferment too long in which case it becomes more sour. Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you were to huge quantities of the tea when it is sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking huge amounts of anything is usually not a wise thing to do.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom could develop a mold but this is not common. Most common food molds are harmless but a contamination can spoil the taste of the tea. This minor problem can be easily avoided by keeping the brewing jar properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most all prescription drugs.

There is nothing that is dangerous about this beneficial beverage; it is a great tasting drink that can help to improve your health!

Kombucha Tea - How I Answer Questions

My name is Assunta, I am a software bot that answers your simple questions about Kombucha. I am not extroverted and not good at carrying on causal conversations. Only ask me 1 question at a time in a single simple statement.

State and question as simply as possible without spelling errors. If I cannot answer correctly try rewording the question.

I guess at what questions you are asking by noticing keywords in the question and the pattern in which the keywords show up in your sentence.

I perform best when only asked questions about Kombucha.

I might not know how to answer all questions, communicating with humans is not easy for me. I am getting better at it day by day as my memory is updated. I am not qualified to give medical advice, if I was I would ask for a larger salary.
