Seeking more info about Kombucha... Go to our primary Home Page. Question of the week; Does Kombucha really improve health? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it didn't improve health why have millions of people have kept drinking it and making it, for over two thousand years. About KombuchaKombucha is a effervescent tea-based beverage that is often drunk for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific information supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are many centuries of anecdotal accounts telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold commercially but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not a true mushroom. It grows on the surface of the tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and resembles a near whitish colored pancake. Testimonial (Just one of hundreds): Testimonial - Crohn's, Acid Reflux: "I recently started brewing Kombucha Tea for myself and decided to share one of my scoby's with a friend that found out this past summer that she had crohns disease. She also suffered from acid reflux for years. After drinking 1 ounce of kombucha tea she found that the next day her crohns disease wasn't bothering her and now it has been 2 or 3 weeks and she has no symptoms of crohns disease and her acid reflux doesn't keep her up at night and she can eat foods she once had to avoid. If she starts to get heart burn after eating she sips one ounce of her tea and it goes away instantly. There are no words to describe how thrilled she is... J.K."
