Question of the week; Does Kombucha Tea really improve health? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it did not better health why have millions of people keep drinking it and preparing it, for over two thousand years.

What is Kombucha

Kombucha is a carbonated tea-based beverage that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal purposes. There is scientific information supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the expense of such studies. There are several centuries of popular stories supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold in stores but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not a true mushroom. It slowly grows on the surface of the fermenting tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and resembles a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of numerous):

Testimonial - General Health, Gray Hair: "I was first introduced to KM Tea in 1994 by a white-haired smoker who I happened to play a monthly round of golf with over the course of that spring, summer and fall. About the second round, he started yapping on and on about Kombucha tea, how his emphazima was going away, and about all the people he knew whose health problems were going away, ect. Then one evening I was watching TV when my favorite local Newslady, Linda Cavenaugh in Oklahoma City was interviewing two ladies who had been in poor health for years until finding Kombucha Tea. Now they were enjoying life again and thrilled to be back in their gardens.

What next caught my attention was that the color of my golfing companion's hair had started to take on a slight reddish blush. When I asked, he said he had been a redhead.

I brought my first KM back from Oklahoma that fall and have been drinking it nearly every day since then. When traveling, I take some in tightly sealed containers in my checked luggage or buy some at conscious food stores.

I have noticed many people whose comments indicate that they drink 16-24 ounces per day. I have been drinking about 6-8 ounces per day with great results. During the past 13 years, there have been only two days when I didn't feel like going to work.

I started drinking KMT when I was 50 and have about the same amount of gray hair now that I did then. After I was on the Tea for about 6 months, my longtime hair stylist asked if I was dying my hair. When I told her about the KMT, she said that a lady client of hers had started the Tea and after 2 years had gone from mainly grey to mainly brown.

For me the main benefits have been not getting sick, having more energy now than I did in my 30s and 40s, and knowing that I will never get cancer. In the past 10 years, I have had health insurance but have never had a claim, other than for tests... Is Kombucha safe?

Most ask this question because are aware that some mushrooms are toxic or they have been told misinformation about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not poisonous. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used for health improvement for thousands of years and is now being sold in health shops and grocery stores in the USA, far less expensive to make it yourself.

Kombucha Tea is not a drug. The FDA has stated that Kombucha Tea to be a safe drink provided it is prepared properly in a clean manner so as not to be contaminated by pathogens. All foods that you prepare has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less for Kombucha because it is a fermented drink and as it ferments it creates a small amount of alcohol which protects the tea from obnoxious pathogens.

No one has ever died from drinking correctly made Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for thousands of years. It is safer than aspirin. There are 1000 aspirin related aspirin deaths yearly.

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but then again some few people could be sensitive to any number of things. An allergic is usually just a skin reddening or a minor.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is allowed to ferment too long then it becomes more acidic. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you were to huge quantities of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking very large quantities of anything is usually not a good idea.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom could develop a mold but this is not common. Most common food molds are harmless but a contamination can spoil the taste of the tea. This small problem is easily prevented by keeping the fermenting tea properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most all prescription medications.

There is nothing that is inherently dangerous about this amazing tea; it is a delicious and safe beverage that can will improve health!

Kombucha - How I Answer Your Questions

I am named Assunta, I am a software bot that answers simple questions about Kombucha. I am not extroverted and I am not good at carrying on causal conversations. Only ask me 1 question at a time in a single simple sentence.

Ask these questions as simply as possible without spelling errors. If I cannot answer correctly just try rewording the question or try just using subject keywords.

I guess at what you are asking by noticing keywords in your question and the pattern in which the keywords show up in your question.

I am at my best when you only ask questions about Kombucha.

I cannot know how to answer all questions that are asked, communicating with humans is not easy for me. I am getting better at it day by day as my memory is updated. I am not qualified to give medical advice, if I was I would ask for a raise.
