About Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based beverage that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific information supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are several centuries of popular stories telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available commercially but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not really a mushroom. It slowly forms on the surface of the fermenting tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial - Prostate, Costs: "I am so greatful for your help in getting me started in this new habit. By having a constant supply of this healthful beverage, I have been able to minimise the perscription medication I take for prostate trouble. The perscripton medication is known to cause cancer and cost $10 per month. The enzymes and supplements that I've been buying as a health conscious alternative cost 4 times as much. There's no tax deduction for vitimines like there is for carsinogenic perscriptions! As we enter into the recession of , I am very greatful to find the cost advantage of making my own kombucha tea! ...
