Seeking more information about Kombucha... Go to our main Home Page. Question of the month; Does Kombucha Tea really work? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it did not help to improve health why have millions of people keep drinking it and making it, for over 2000 years. Description of KombuchaKombucha is a carbonated tea-based beverage that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are many centuries of popular stories supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold commercially but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not a true mushroom. It slowly grows on the surface of the tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a near whitish colored pancake. Testimonial (Just one of hundreds): Testimonial - Interstitial Cistites, Menopause, Bladder: "Interstitial Cistites is a weird spelling but a real crippling condition that affects many women in America. I had suffered from this condition for about 20 years. I've taken the tea for many months and not only got rid of menopausal symptoms, Osteopenia (don't have to buy Actonel anymore) but I also have increased my bladder capacity almost to an 4 hour period (consider normal for my age), besides I no longer have the burning pain on the bladder wall. I think this is the greatest thing in the world... E.O."
