Question of the month; Does Kombucha really improve health? Answer is...Yes! If it didn't improve health why have millions of people keep drinking it and preparing it, for thousands of years.

About Kombucha

Kombucha is a effervescent tea-based drink that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the cost of such medical studies. There are many centuries of anecdotal accounts telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold commercially but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not a true mushroom. It grows on the surface of the fermenting tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and resembles a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of numerous):

Testimonial - Quality: "I have been brewing KT for a few months. My supply grew mold so I had to start over with a new culture. I ordered 4 from Kombucha America. When I used the cultures to brew KT the results were great!! None of my other brews, from mushrooms I had ordered from other sites, could compare with the great taste and effervesense of my new brew. It tastes delicious!! The scobies that I have grown are very solid and much thicker than ones I grew before. I am very pleased with my order and thank you for a great product... Should I be worried about the safety of Kombucha?

Most ask this question because they know that some mushrooms are toxic or they have been told misinformation about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom and it is not toxic. People only call it a mushroom, it is not a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used as a health remedy for thousands of years it is now being sold in health shops and grocery stores in the USA, it is a lot cheaper to make it yourself.

Kombucha Tea is not a drug. The FDA has found Kombucha Tea to be a safe drink provided it is correctly prepared in a clean way so as not to be contaminated by common food pathogens. All foods that you make can become contaminated but the risk is probably less for Kombucha because it is a fermented beverage which as it ferments it creates a small amount of alcohol helping to protect it.

Nobody has died from drinking correctly prepared Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for over two millennium. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but some few people may be allergic to any number of things. An allergic is usually just a minor skin blush or itch.

The tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is permitted to ferment longer and to a more sour state. Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you were to large quantities of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking huge amounts of anything is usually not a good idea.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not common. Most common household food molds are harmless but they can ruin the taste of the tea. This small problem can be easily avoided by keeping the fermenting tea properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescribed medications.

There is nothing that is inherently dangerous about this beneficial beverage; it is a delicious and safe beverage that can will improve health!
