If it did not better health why have millions of people keep drinking it and making it, for over two thousand years. About KombuchaKombucha is a effervescent tea-based beverage that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are many centuries of popular stories supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also most often referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not really a mushroom. It slowly forms on the surface of the tea while the tea is fermenting and looks like a near whitish colored pancake. Testimonial (Just one of dozens and dozens): Testimonial - Prostate Cancer: "In January my partner was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer with a PSA of nearly 800. The cancer had spread to the hip and thigh, the pain was insupportable.
