Our body is a machine for living. It is organized for that, it is its nature. Let life go on in it unhindered and let it defend itself, it will do more than if you paralyze it by encumbering it with remedies. ~Leo Tolstoy

Question of the week; Does Kombucha Tea really improve health? Answer is...Yes! If it didn't improve health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and preparing it, for thousands of years.

What is Kombucha

Kombucha is a carbonated tea-based drink that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific info supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the expense of such studies. There are several centuries of popular accounts supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available commercially but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not a true mushroom. It slowly grows on the surface of the fermenting tea while the tea is fermenting and resembles a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of many):

Testimonial - Osteopenia, Osteoperosis, High Blood Pressure, Heart Diease: "I had suffered a by-pass surgery and my wife, always researching about alternative medicine found this site about Kombucha tea, she had heard of that a few years ago and since I was up to another stent (a procedure similar to a by-pass heart surgery) we decided to give it a try. To make a long story a short one, I never had the by-pass surgery, never needed it. I reduced almost to nothing some of the drugs I was taking (not suggesting you do the same without consulting with your physician) others I flatly removed. My blood pressure was the lowest ever and I eliminate all medication to blood pressure. My wife suffering from horrendous "hot flashes" and osteopenia ( a precursor to osteoperosis) had such an improvement. She never had another hot flash again ( a condition she was suffering for the last 8 years) and her osteopenia is almost gone . I went from a pale yellow wall color to a fresh teenager blush. My wife lost five pounds without trying and no more hot flashes for her. Don't hold yourself back from trying this amazing Kombucha and we do rely on his product and vouch for that. Follow the instructions. We each drink about 3 glasses a day and we bought a whole bunch of Glass jars at Wall-Mart. Just thought I should give something back to people that may suffer from the same condition I do or did, or my wife. Sincerely, ...M."

Should I be worried about the safety of Kombucha?

Most ask this question because are aware that some mushrooms are poisonous or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom and it is not toxic. People only call it a mushroom, it is not a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used for health improvement for over 2000 years and is now being widely sold in health food in the USA, it is a lot cheaper to make it yourself.

Kombucha Tea is not a drug. The FDA has stated that Kombucha Tea to be a safe beverage if it is prepared properly in a clean manner so as not to be contaminated by pathogens. Any food that you prepare has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less for Kombucha because it is a fermented drink and as it ferments it produces a small amount of alcohol which helps to protect the tea against pathogens.

No person has ever died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and yet millions of people daily drink this remarkable beverage and have done so for thousands of years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but then again some few people could be allergic to any number of things. An allergic is usually just a minor skin blush or a minor.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is permitted to ferment too long then it becomes more acidic. Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you were to huge amounts of the tea when it is sour, this would not be a smart thing to do, drinking large quantities of anything is hardly a smart thing to do.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common household food molds are harmless but they can spoil the taste of the tea. This small problem is easily avoided by keeping the brewing jar properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescribed medications.

There is nothing that is dangerous about this remarkable tea; it is a great tasting drink that can will improve your health!
