What is Kombucha

Kombucha is a delicious tea-based drink that is often drunk for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific info supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the expense of such studies. There are several centuries of anecdotal accounts telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold commercially but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not a true mushroom. It slowly forms on the surface of the fermenting tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and resembles a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of numerous):

Testimonial - Energy, headaches, vision, hair color, weightloss: "I haven't used Konbucha tea for several years. Now that I am over 50 and suffering with several of the typical ailments that accompany menopause, such as high cholesterol, hypertension, hypothyroidism and arthritis. I am ready to start drinking it again. I had forgoten about this remarkable tea but, I now realize that is may be just what I need to help with the symthoms of these conditions and to help detoxify my body of the several medications I am told I need to controll thes symthoms, though non of them will be curing them. My doctors feels that the tea is safe to drink while on medication but, advises to drink is separatly. Many years ago when my family and i were on the tea, I was perfectly healthy but, I know it gave me energy and I stopped getting headaches. It also improved my vision. Each times I was examined for glasses, my prescription was weaker. My father's hair had been silver for years. It returned to dark brown, as did all the hair on his body. My mother lost pounds and inches! Our dog was given the tea for 10 years. This dog lived to the age of 17.2 years! He had to serious health problems and still had good vision. Making Kombucha tea is a little work and requires a dedicated routine but, I am convinced it is worth it for the long haul. I am very hopeful that my health will improve and maybe I can eventually reduce the amount of medication I am on. I am excited to be starting this healthful habit once again!... D.K."
