Question of the week; Does Kombucha really work? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it did not help to improve health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and preparing it, for over two thousand years.

What is Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based drink that is often drunk for its health benefits or medicinal purposes. There is scientific info supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are many centuries of popular accounts telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available commercially but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also most commonly referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not a true mushroom. It grows on the surface of the fermenting tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of numerous):

Testimonial - Hormone Imbalance: "I have been drinking store bought Kombucha for a full month now, and looking for a way to make it. Thank you for your website! I will be making my order today for your starter. By the way, I read your disclaimer, and that is the best disclaimer I have ever read in my life! Especially near the bottom! Wish more businesses would be "real" people like yourselves! God bless you all! FYI Kombucha actually cured mine and my daughters hormone imbalances we have had for many years! After only 2 weeks for me. (I am 50-menopause) She is 20... M.L.P."

Should I be worried about the safety of Kombucha?

Most ask this question because are aware that some fungi are poisonous or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom and it is not poisonous. People only call it a mushroom, it is not a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used as a health remedy for thousands of years and is now being sold in food and health in the U.S., it is a lot cheaper to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The F.D.A. has found this remarkable tea to be a safe beverage if it is prepared properly in a clean way so as not to become contaminated by common food pathogens. Any food that you prepare has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less for Kombucha as it is a fermented beverage and as it ferments it makes a small amount of alcohol helping to protect it.

No person has died from drinking correctly prepared Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for over 2000 years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but some few people could be sensitive to any number of different things. A reaction is usually just a reddening of the skin or a minor.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is allowed to ferment longer and to a more sour state. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you drink large quantities of the tea when it is very sour, this would not be a smart thing to do, drinking large quantities of anything is usually not a wise thing to do.

A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common food molds are not harmful but a contamination can ruin the taste of the tea. This minor problem is easily prevented by keeping the brewing jar properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most all prescription drugs.

There is nothing that is inherently dangerous about this amazing tea; it is a delicious and safe beverage that can will improve your health!
