Question of the day; Does Kombucha Tea really improve health? Answer is...Absolutely yes! If it did not better health why have millions of people keep drinking it and making it, for over 2000 years.

Description of Kombucha

Kombucha is a delicious tea-based drink that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific information supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are several centuries of popular stories telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also most commonly referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not a true mushroom. It forms on the very surface of the tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of numerous):

Testimonial - Crohn's, Acid Reflux: "I recently started brewing Kombucha Tea for myself and decided to share one of my scoby's with a friend that found out this past summer that she had crohns disease. She also suffered from acid reflux for years. After drinking 1 ounce of kombucha tea she found that the next day her crohns disease wasn't bothering her and now it has been 2 or 3 weeks and she has no symptoms of crohns disease and her acid reflux doesn't keep her up at night and she can eat foods she once had to avoid. If she starts to get heart burn after eating she sips one ounce of her tea and it goes away instantly. There are no words to describe how thrilled she is... J.K."

Should I be worried about the safety of Kombucha?

Most ask this question because are aware that some mushrooms are toxic or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not poisonous. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha Tea has been used as a health remedy for thousands of years and is now being sold in food and health in the USA, far less expensive to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The F.D.A. has found this remarkable tea to be a safe beverage if it is correctly prepared in a clean way so as not to be contaminated by common food pathogens. Any food that you prepare can become contaminated but the risk is probably less so for Kombucha as it is a fermented drink which as it ferments it produces a small amount of alcohol helping to protect it.

No one has ever died from drinking correctly prepared Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for over two millennium. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but then again some few people could be sensitive to any number of different things. A reaction is usually just a minor skin blush or a minor.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is allowed to ferment too long then it becomes more acidic. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you were to huge quantities of the tea when it is sour, this would not be a smart thing to do, drinking large quantities of anything is usually not a wise thing to do.

A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not common. Most common such molds are harmless but a contamination can ruin the taste of the tea. This small problem can be easily prevented by keeping the brewing jar properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most all prescribed drugs.

There is nothing that is inherently dangerous about this remarkable tea; it is a great tasting drink that can can improve your health!

Kombucha Tea - How I Answer Questions

I am Assunta, I am a software program that answers questions about Kombucha. I am shy and not good at carrying on personal conversations. Only ask me 1 question at a time in a single statement.

State these questions as simply as possible without spelling errors. If I do not answer correctly try rewording the question or try just using subject keywords.

I guess at what you are asking by noticing keywords in your question and the pattern in which the keywords are positioned in your question.

I am at my best when only asked questions about Kombucha.

I cannot know how to answer all questions that are asked, communicating with humans is not easy for me. I am getting better at it day by day as my memory is updated. I am not qualified to give medical advice, if I was I would ask for more money.
