Question of the week; Does Kombucha Tea really improve health? Answer is...Yes! If it did not better health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and making it, for thousands of years.

What is Kombucha

Kombucha is a effervescent tea-based beverage that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific info supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the expense of such medical studies. There are many centuries of popular stories telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold commercially but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also most commonly referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not really a mushroom. It forms on the surface of the tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of hundreds):

Testimonial - Quality: "I have been brewing KT for a few months. My supply grew mold so I had to start over with a new culture. I ordered 4 from Kombucha America. When I used the cultures to brew KT the results were great!! None of my other brews, from mushrooms I had ordered from other sites, could compare with the great taste and effervesense of my new brew. It tastes delicious!! The scobies that I have grown are very solid and much thicker than ones I grew before. I am very pleased with my order and thank you for a great product... Kombucha Tea safe?

Most ask this question because they know that some mushrooms are toxic or they have been told misinformation about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not poisonous. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used as a health remedy for over two millennium and is now being widely sold in health food in the USA, far less expensive to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The F.D.A. has stated that this remarkable tea to be a safe drink if it is correctly prepared in a clean way so as not to become contaminated by pathogens. Any food that you prepare has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less so for Kombucha as it is a fermented drink and as it ferments it creates a small amount of alcohol helping to protect it.

No one has died from drinking correctly prepared Kombucha Tea and yet millions of people daily drink this remarkable beverage and have done so for over two millennium. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but then again some few people might be allergic to any number of different things. A reaction is usually just a reddening of the skin or a minor.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is permitted to ferment too long to a more sour condition. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you were to very large quantities of the tea when it is sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking huge amounts of anything is usually not a wise thing to do.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom could develop a mold but this is not common. Most common household food molds are harmless but they can ruin the taste of the tea. This minor problem is easily avoided by keeping the brewing jar properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescribed drugs.

There is nothing that is inherently dangerous about this amazing tea; it is a great tasting drink that can can improve health!
