Question of the week; Does Kombucha Tea really work? Answer is...Absolutely yes! If it did not better health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and brewing it, for over 2000 years.

About Kombucha


Kombucha is a carbonated tea-based drink that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are many centuries of anecdotal stories supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold commercially but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not really a mushroom. It grows on the surface of the tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and resembles a near whitish colored pancake.

So because of that I was treated with disgust by the medical staff. I came home, looked at my Kirlian photo on the fridge, poured another glass of K-Tea and knew I would be just fine.

The following summer I played a great season on a womens' fastball team. I played one more summer after that until I took up golfing. Not bad for a 53 yr. old granny with "a severe disability.

Kombucha Tea safe?



Most ask this question because they know that some mushrooms are toxic or they have been told misinformation about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom and it is not poisonous. People only call it a mushroom, it is not a mushroom.

Kombucha Tea has been used for health improvement for thousands of years and is now being sold in food and health in the USA, far less expensive to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The FDA has found this remarkable tea to be a safe drink provided it is correctly prepared in a clean manner so as not to be contaminated by common food pathogens. Any food that you prepare can become contaminated but the risk is probably less so for Kombucha because it is a fermented drink which as it ferments it creates a small amount of alcohol helping to protect it.

No person has ever died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and yet millions of people daily drink this remarkable beverage and have done so for over 2000 years. It is safer than aspirin. There are 1000 aspirin related aspirin deaths yearly.

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but then again some few people could be allergic to any number of things. An allergic is usually just a minor skin blush or itch.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is allowed to ferment longer and to a more sour state. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you were to very large amounts of the tea when it is very sour, this would not be a smart thing to do, drinking large quantities of anything is usually not a good idea.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not common. Most common household food molds are not harmful but a contamination can spoil the taste of the tea. This small problem can be easily prevented by keeping the fermenting tea properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescription drugs.

There is nothing that is inherently dangerous about this beneficial beverage; it is a delicious and safe beverage that can will improve your health!
