Question of the week; Does Kombucha really work? Answer is...Yes! If it didn't improve health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and brewing it, for over 2000 years.

About Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based drink that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are many centuries of popular accounts telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not a true mushroom. It forms on the surface of the tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a near whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of hundreds):

Testimonial - Skin Age Spots, Energy: "I have now made four gallons of the tea and all have been successful. I got fast feed back on my questions-within an hour or two!! I do not have health problems but notice my age spots fading. I drink it for energy... Is Kombucha safe?

Most ask this question because are aware that some mushrooms are poisonous or they have been told misinformation about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not poisonous. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha Tea has been used for health improvement for over 2000 years it is now being widely sold in health food in the USA, far less expensive to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The FDA has found Kombucha Tea to be a safe drink provided it is prepared properly in a clean manner so as not to be contaminated by common food pathogens. All foods that you prepare has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less so for Kombucha because it is a fermented beverage and as it ferments it produces a small amount of alcohol helping to protect it.

Nobody has died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for over two millennium. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but then again some few people might be sensitive to any number of different things. A reaction is usually just a reddening of the skin or itch.

The tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is permitted to ferment too long in which case it becomes more sour. Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you drink huge amounts of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking very large amounts of anything is usually not a wise thing to do.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom could develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common household food molds are harmless but they can ruin the taste of the tea. This small problem is easily prevented by keeping the fermenting tea properly covered and if it should occur is easily detected and you simple make a new batch of tea."]
