Want more info about Kombucha... Go to our main Home Page. Question of the day; Does Kombucha really improve health? Answer is...Absolutely yes! If it didn't improve health why would millions of people keep drinking it and brewing it, for over two thousand years. Description of KombuchaKombucha is a delicious tea-based beverage that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the expense of such medical studies. There are several centuries of popular stories telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available in stores but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also most often referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not really a mushroom. It forms on the surface of the tea while the tea is fermenting and looks like a near whitish colored pancake. Testimonial (Just one of a large number): Testimonial - Diabetes: "I am a middled aged Type I insulin dependent diabetic, female. I first learned of kombucha tea through my sister who is an RN. I tried it. I was absolutely astounded to see that my need for insulin dropped considerably almost immediately, like the next day. And as long as I stayed on the tea, my body needed to be injected with less insulin. For those of you who don't know, the less insulin you have to inject, the healthier your body is. This past weekend I had company. We took an out-of-town train tour of my state. I didn't drink kombucha tea. What happened? Blood sugar levels went up! I got right back on kombucha tea and am now back on low need for insulin. This is for me something to shout about... M.B."
