If it did not help to improve health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and preparing it, for thousands of years. What is KombuchaKombucha is a carbonated tea-based drink that is often drunk for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are several centuries of anecdotal stories telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available in stores but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not really a mushroom. It slowly grows on the surface of the fermenting tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and resembles a whitish colored pancake. Testimonial (Just one of hundreds): Testimonial - Diabetes: "After my husband who has diabetes2 started drinking kombucha his bloodsugar is perfect... B."
