Question of the week; Does Kombucha really improve health? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it did not better health why have millions of people keep drinking it and preparing it, for thousands of years.

About Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based drink that is often drunk for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific information supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the expense of such studies. There are several centuries of popular accounts telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not really a mushroom. It forms on the surface of the fermenting tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a near whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of many):

Testimonial - Chronic pain, Sleep, Mobility: "I started using K-T about 21/2 months after I had been hospitalized for the 4th time in a year, for kidney failure, and a uric acid of 14.9 ( the normal is 3.5 to 7.0) which is at a dangerous level..I take alot of medication of which includes morphine, and other opiates for chronic pain I've had for years..I was in a wheelchair to get around for any distance and couldn't walk more than a few feet now I can walk 1/2 to 3/4 a block daily and am able to help my wife around the house (doing dishes, vacuming, etc.)which has helped in our getting along with each other..It has helped my getting along with others, because I'm not in as much pain..And I sleep every night all night long instead of 3-4 hours like before I started K-T... Should I be worried about the safety of Kombucha?

Most ask this question because they know that some fungi are poisonous or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom and it is not toxic. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha Tea has been used for health improvement for thousands of years and is now being widely sold in health food in the USA, far less expensive to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The F.D.A. has found this remarkable tea to be a safe drink provided it is prepared properly in a clean manner so as not to be contaminated by pathogens. Any food that you prepare has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less for Kombucha as it is a fermented beverage which as it ferments it creates a small amount of alcohol which helps to protect the tea against pathogens.

No person has died from drinking correctly made Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for thousands of years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but then again some few people might be sensitive to any number of different things. An allergic is usually just a reddening of the skin or itch.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is allowed to ferment too long to a more sour condition. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you drink huge amounts of the tea when it is sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking huge amounts of anything is hardly a smart thing to do.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not common. Most common household food molds are not harmful but they can spoil the taste of the tea. This minor problem is easily avoided by keeping the brewing jar properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most all prescribed drugs.

There is nothing that is naturally dangerous about this beneficial beverage; it is a great tasting drink that can help to improve your health!

Kombucha - How I Answer Questions

I am named Assunta, I am a software program that answers questions about Kombucha Tea. I am shy and I am not good at carrying on personal conversations. Only ask me one question at a time within a single simple statement.

Ask and question as simply as possible with no spelling errors. If I do not answer correctly try rewording the question or try just using subject keywords.

I guess at what questions you are asking by noticing keywords in your question and the pattern in which the keywords are positioned in your sentence.

I am at my best when you only ask questions about Kombucha Tea.

I cannot know how to answer all questions that are asked, communicating with humans is not easy for me. Each day my memory is updated and I am getting better at doing my job. I am not qualified to give medical advice, if I was I would ask for a raise.
