Question of the week; Does Kombucha really improve health? Answer is...Absolutely yes! If it didn't improve health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and preparing it, for thousands of years.

Description of Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based drink that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal purposes. There is scientific information supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the cost of such medical studies. There are many centuries of anecdotal stories telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not a true mushroom. It slowly forms on the very surface of the tea while the tea is fermenting and looks like a near whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of a large number):

Testimonial - Arthritis, Energy, Longevity: "Hi, I personally have used kombucha for about ten years. I have found that my skin is softer and that I rarely get sick. As I aproach the age of forty, I find that my energy level hasn't gone down. The biggest thing I notice is that I no longer suffer from arthritis. Allso, I have given it to my dog, whos life expectency for the breed is around 12 to 14 years... she lived to almost 19 tears of age and was energetic and young. I would urge everyone to decide on brewing there own Kombucha... and do so by dealing with Kombucha America... Kombucha Tea safe?

Most ask this question because they know that some mushrooms are poisonous or they have been told misinformation about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not toxic. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used as a health remedy for thousands of years and is now being sold in food and health in the USA, far less expensive to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The F.D.A. has found this remarkable tea to be a safe drink provided it is correctly prepared in a clean way so as not to be contaminated by pathogens. All foods that you prepare can become contaminated but the risk is probably less so for Kombucha as it is a fermented drink which as it ferments it makes a small amount of alcohol which protects the tea from obnoxious pathogens.

No one has died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for thousands of years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but some few people could be sensitive to any number of things. An allergic is usually just a reddening of the skin or a minor.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is allowed to ferment too long in which case it becomes more sour. Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you drink huge amounts of the tea when it is sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking large quantities of anything is usually not a good idea.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common food molds are not harmful but they can ruin the taste of the tea. This small problem can be easily avoided by keeping the brewing jar properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescription medications.

There is nothing that is inherently dangerous about this amazing tea; it is a great tasting drink that can can improve health!

Kombucha Tea - How I Answer Your Questions

My name is Assunta, I am a software program that answers questions about Kombucha. I am not extroverted and I am not good at carrying on personal conversations. Only ask me one question at a time in a single statement.

Ask the question as simply as possible with no spelling errors. If I cannot answer correctly just try rephrasing the question or try just using subject keywords.

I guess at what you are asking by noticing keywords in your question and the pattern in which the keywords show up in your question.

I am at my best when only asked questions about Kombucha.

I may not know how to answer all questions, chatting with humans is not easy for me. I am getting better at it day by day as my memory is updated. I am not intelligent enough to give medical advice, if I was I would ask for a larger salary.
