Question of the week; Does Kombucha really work? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it did not help to improve health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and making it, for over 2000 years.

What is Kombucha

Kombucha is a delicious tea-based drink that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific information supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are several centuries of anecdotal accounts telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not a true mushroom. It grows on the very surface of the tea while the tea is fermenting and resembles a near whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of numerous):

Testimonial - Mercury Detoxification: "I just returned from a trip to Costa Rica where I had my first drink of kombucha tea. I actually had three glasses within 5 days. When I came home I no longer had the mecury toxicity that I had before my trip. I am convinced the tea cleared it from my system. I had been taking lots of detox pills from my naturopath but after three months I was making little progress. The 3 glasses of kombucha zipped right through me and eliminated all of the mercury from my system... Is Kombucha safe?

Most ask this question because are aware that some mushrooms are toxic or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not toxic. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha Tea has been used as a health remedy for over 2000 years it is now being sold in health shops and grocery stores in the U.S., far less expensive to make it yourself.

Kombucha Tea is not a drug. The F.D.A. has stated that this remarkable tea to be a safe drink if it is prepared properly in a clean way so as not to be contaminated by common food pathogens. All foods that you make has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less for Kombucha because it is a fermented drink which as it ferments it produces a small amount of alcohol which protects the tea from obnoxious pathogens.

No person has died from drinking correctly prepared Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for over 2000 years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but then again some few people might be sensitive to any number of different things. An allergic is usually just a skin reddening or itch.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is allowed to ferment too long then it becomes more acidic. Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you were to huge quantities of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking very large amounts of anything is usually not a good idea.

A Kombucha mushroom may develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common household food molds are harmless but a contamination can ruin the taste of the tea. This small problem is easily prevented by keeping the fermenting tea properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescription medications.

There is nothing that is inherently dangerous about this beneficial beverage; it is a great tasting drink that can help to improve your health!

Kombucha Tea - How I Answer Questions

I am Assunta, I am a software program that can answer questions about Kombucha. I am not extroverted and not good at carrying on personal conversations. Only ask me 1 question at a time within a single simple sentence.

Ask the question as simply as possible with no spelling errors. If I cannot answer correctly just try rewording the question or try just using subject keywords.

I guess at what questions you are asking by noticing keywords in your question and the pattern in which the keywords appears in your question.

I am at my best when you only ask questions about Kombucha.

I cannot know how to answer all questions that are asked, communicating with humans is not easy for me. Each day my memory is updated and I am getting better at doing my job. I am not intelligent enough to give medical advice, if I was I would ask for a larger salary.
