Men that look no further than their outsides, think health an appurtenance unto life, and quarrel with their constitutions for being sick; but I that have examined the parts of man, and know upon what tender filaments that fabric hangs, do wonder that we are not always so; and considering the thousand doors that lead to death, do thank my God that we can die but once. ~Thomas Browne

Question of the month; Does Kombucha Tea really improve health? Answer is...Absolutely yes! If it didn't improve health why have millions of people keep drinking it and brewing it, for over 2000 years.

Description of Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based beverage that is often drunk for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the expense of such studies. There are many centuries of popular stories supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not really a mushroom. It slowly grows on the surface of the fermenting tea while the tea is fermenting and looks like a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of dozens and dozens):

Testimonial - Cancer, Weight Loss, High Blood Pressure: " In September of 1996 I had a growth removed from my lower left side of my back and October 1996 was diagnosed with "Cutaeneous B-cell Lymphoma. Twenty six new tumors grew after the removal of 1 and I received radiation on that spot while being told this is a very rare type of cancer that always returns and grows new tumors. "Usually within 10 years patients lose the battle. "Get your affairs in order and pull out all the stops, try anything, I can't even give you a prognosis" was what I was told.

After 3rd degree burns fon my back from radiation and obesity, hypertension, and other problems I began to use Kombucha tea , the "water cure" and took supplements-including dietary changes. I got tons of energy, lost weight and my blood pressure went down. Within 6 months (March of 1997) there was no sign of any cancer. Even the radiation poisoning cleared up. Now almost 8 years after diagnosis I am still cancer free.

My Kombucha was destroyed during a break in at my home (December 1997) so I stopped brewing my tea. Now overweight again and hypertensive I know I want Kombucha in my life agan and for the rest of my life. Delicious, nutricious, energizing, and in my case-life saving! ... Is Kombucha safe?

Most ask this question because they know that some fungi are poisonous or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom and it is not poisonous. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha Tea has been used as a health remedy for over two millennium and is now being sold in food and health in the U.S., it is a lot cheaper to make it yourself.

Kombucha Tea is not a drug. The FDA has stated that Kombucha Tea to be a safe beverage provided it is correctly prepared in a clean way so as not to be contaminated by common food pathogens. All foods that you make can become contaminated but the risk is probably less for Kombucha as it is a fermented drink which as it ferments it makes a small amount of alcohol which protects the tea from obnoxious pathogens.

No person has died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and yet millions of people daily drink this remarkable beverage and have done so for over two millennium. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but some few people may be sensitive to any number of different things. An allergic is usually just a minor skin blush or itch.

The tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is allowed to ferment longer and to a more sour state. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you were to huge amounts of the tea when it is sour, this would not be a smart thing to do, drinking huge quantities of anything is usually not a good idea.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom could develop a mold but this is not common. Most common such molds are not harmful but they can spoil the taste of the tea. This minor problem is easily prevented by keeping the brewing jar properly covered and if it should occur is easily detected and you simple make a new batch of tea."]
