Question of the day; Does Kombucha Tea really improve health? Answer is...Yes! If it did not help to improve health why would millions of people keep drinking it and brewing it, for thousands of years.

Description of Kombucha


Kombucha is a carbonated tea-based drink that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific info supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are many centuries of popular stories supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available in stores but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not really a mushroom. It forms on the surface of the tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a near whitish colored pancake.

Should I be worried about the safety of Kombucha?



Most ask this question because are aware that some mushrooms are poisonous or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not toxic. People only call it a mushroom, it is not a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used as a health remedy for over two millennium and is now being sold in food and health in the U.S., far less expensive to make it yourself.

Kombucha Tea is not a drug. The FDA has found this remarkable tea to be a safe beverage if it is prepared properly in a clean way so as not to become contaminated by common food pathogens. All foods that you make can become contaminated but the risk is probably less for Kombucha as it is a fermented drink and as it ferments it makes a small amount of alcohol which helps to protect the tea against pathogens.

Nobody has ever died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for over 2000 years. It is safer than aspirin. There are 1000 aspirin related aspirin deaths yearly.

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but some few people might be sensitive to any number of things. An allergic is usually just a reddening of the skin or itch.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is permitted to ferment too long in which case it becomes more sour. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you were to huge quantities of the tea when it is sour, this would not be a smart thing to do, drinking huge quantities of anything is usually not a wise thing to do.

A Kombucha mushroom may develop a mold but this is not common. Most common such molds are harmless but they can ruin the taste of the tea. This small problem is easily avoided by keeping the brewing jar properly covered and if it should occur is easily detected and you simple make a new batch of tea."]
