Question of the week; Does Kombucha Tea really work? Answer is...Absolutely yes! If it did not help to improve health why would millions of people keep drinking it and brewing it, for over two thousand years.

Description of Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based beverage that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific info supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the cost of such medical studies. There are several centuries of popular accounts telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also most commonly referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not really a mushroom. It slowly forms on the surface of the tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and resembles a near whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of hundreds):

Testimonial - Yeast infection, Candida, Appetite depressant: "I have had painful, red-hot yeast infections in the folds of my skin (under the breasts, and under the belly) non-stop for 5 years after being hospitalized and having stomach surgery. I tried a popular product called Three-Lac, after reading the testimonials, to rid myself of the yeast. I also went on a sugar-free, low-carb diet but nothing helped. My best hope was to slather on salves to cover the pain and itching.

Within 6 days of drinking 8-12 oz of Kombucha combined with raw juice daily, the yeast is completely gone. I mean - GONE - after suffering for 5 years!! I also notice it has decreased my appetite, which would make sense if candida was present in my body.

I will post more after using kombucha longer, but wanted to report this amazing benefit! ... H.N.M."

Should I be worried about the safety of Kombucha?

Most ask this question because they have heard that some fungi are toxic or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not poisonous. People only call it a mushroom, it is not a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used as a health remedy for over two millennium and is now being sold in food and health in the USA, far less expensive to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The FDA has stated that Kombucha Tea to be a safe beverage if it is correctly prepared in a clean manner so as not to become contaminated by common food pathogens. Any food that you prepare has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less for Kombucha because it is a fermented beverage and as it ferments it produces a small amount of alcohol which protects the tea from obnoxious pathogens.

No person has ever died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and yet millions of people daily drink this remarkable beverage and have done so for over two millennium. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but then again some few people may be sensitive to any number of different things. A reaction is usually just a reddening of the skin or a minor.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is allowed to ferment too long in which case it becomes more sour. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you drink large amounts of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking very large quantities of anything is usually not a good idea.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom may develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common food molds are harmless but they can spoil the taste of the tea. This limited problem can be easily avoided by keeping the fermenting tea properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescribed medications.

There is nothing that is naturally dangerous about this beneficial beverage; it is a great tasting drink that can will improve your health!

Kombucha - How I Answer Questions

My name is Assunta, I am a software program that can answer questions about Kombucha Tea. I am shy and not good at carrying on causal conversations. Only ask me one question at a time in a single simple statement.

Ask these questions as simply as possible without spelling errors. If I have a hard time answering try rephrasing the question.

I guess at what you are asking by noticing keywords in the question and the pattern in which the keywords show up in your question.

I perform best when you only ask questions about Kombucha.

I may not know how to answer all questions, chatting with humans is not easy for me. Each day my memory is updated and I am getting better at doing my job. I am not intelligent enough to give medical advice, if I was I would ask for more money.
