Question of the week; Does Kombucha really improve health? Answer is...Absolutely yes! If it did not better health why have millions of people have kept drinking it and preparing it, for thousands of years.

About Kombucha

Kombucha is a effervescent tea-based beverage that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal purposes. There is scientific info supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the cost of such medical studies. There are many centuries of popular stories telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold in stores but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also most often referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not really a mushroom. It slowly forms on the surface of the fermenting tea while the tea is fermenting and resembles a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of a large number):

Testimonial - Yeast infection, Candida, Appetite depressant: "I have had painful, red-hot yeast infections in the folds of my skin (under the breasts, and under the belly) non-stop for 5 years after being hospitalized and having stomach surgery. I tried a popular product called Three-Lac, after reading the testimonials, to rid myself of the yeast. I also went on a sugar-free, low-carb diet but nothing helped. My best hope was to slather on salves to cover the pain and itching.

Within 6 days of drinking 8-12 oz of Kombucha combined with raw juice daily, the yeast is completely gone. I mean - GONE - after suffering for 5 years!! I also notice it has decreased my appetite, which would make sense if candida was present in my body.

I will post more after using kombucha longer, but wanted to report this amazing benefit! ... H.N.M."

Kombucha Tea safe?

Most ask this question because are aware that some fungi are poisonous or they have been told misinformation about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom and it is not poisonous. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used for health improvement for thousands of years and is now being widely sold in health food in the USA, it is a lot cheaper to make it yourself.

Kombucha Tea is not a drug. The FDA has found this remarkable tea to be a safe drink provided it is prepared properly in a clean manner so as not to be contaminated by common food pathogens. Any food that you prepare can become contaminated but the risk is probably less for Kombucha because it is a fermented beverage and as it ferments it creates a small amount of alcohol helping to protect it.

No one has died from drinking correctly made Kombucha Tea and yet millions of people daily drink this remarkable beverage and have done so for over two millennium. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but then again some few people might be sensitive to any number of different things. An allergic is usually just a minor skin blush or itch.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is permitted to ferment longer and to a more sour state. Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you drink huge quantities of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking very large amounts of anything is hardly a smart thing to do.

A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common food molds are not harmful but a contamination can ruin the taste of the tea. This small problem can be easily prevented by keeping the fermenting tea properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most all prescribed medications.

There is nothing that is naturally dangerous about this amazing tea; it is a delicious and safe beverage that can help to improve health!
