Question of the day; Does Kombucha really improve health? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it didn't improve health why have millions of people keep drinking it and preparing it, for over two thousand years.

About Kombucha

Kombucha is a delicious tea-based drink that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are several centuries of popular accounts telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available commercially but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not really a mushroom. It slowly grows on the surface of the fermenting tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of hundreds):

Testimonial - Weight Loss, Colds: "I have been drinking KT for 1 1/2 years, I managed to lose 60 pounds without dieting. I contribute that to the KT, it has also got me off POP and on to water instead, and I was also able to break my 2 teaspoon sugar habit in my coffee, now no sugar in my coffee. I also don't get colds like other people around me do... M.F."

Kombucha Tea safe?

Most ask this question because they have heard that some fungi are poisonous or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not toxic. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used as a health remedy for thousands of years and is now being sold in food and health in the USA, far less expensive to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The FDA has found Kombucha Tea to be a safe beverage provided it is prepared properly in a clean manner so as not to be contaminated by common food pathogens. Any food that you prepare can become contaminated but the risk is probably less for Kombucha as it is a fermented drink and as it ferments it makes a small amount of alcohol helping to protect it.

Nobody has died from drinking correctly prepared Kombucha Tea and yet millions of people daily drink this remarkable beverage and have done so for thousands of years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but some few people might be sensitive to any number of different things. An allergic is usually just a reddening of the skin or itch.

The tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is permitted to ferment too long to a more sour condition. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you drink huge amounts of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking large amounts of anything is hardly a smart thing to do.

A Kombucha mushroom could develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common such molds are harmless but a contamination can ruin the taste of the tea. This minor problem is easily avoided by keeping the brewing jar properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescribed medications.

There is nothing that is inherently dangerous about this amazing tea; it is a delicious and safe beverage that can help to improve your health!
