Question of the month; Does Kombucha Tea really improve health? Answer is...Yes! If it didn't improve health why would millions of people keep drinking it and making it, for over two thousand years.

Description of Kombucha

Kombucha is a carbonated tea-based drink that is often drunk for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the expense of such medical studies. There are several centuries of popular accounts supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not a true mushroom. It slowly grows on the surface of the tea while the tea is fermenting and looks like a near whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of a large number):

Testimonial - Energy, headaches, vision, hair color, weightloss: "I haven't used Konbucha tea for several years. Now that I am over 50 and suffering with several of the typical ailments that accompany menopause, such as high cholesterol, hypertension, hypothyroidism and arthritis. I am ready to start drinking it again. I had forgoten about this remarkable tea but, I now realize that is may be just what I need to help with the symthoms of these conditions and to help detoxify my body of the several medications I am told I need to controll thes symthoms, though non of them will be curing them. My doctors feels that the tea is safe to drink while on medication but, advises to drink is separatly. Many years ago when my family and i were on the tea, I was perfectly healthy but, I know it gave me energy and I stopped getting headaches. It also improved my vision. Each times I was examined for glasses, my prescription was weaker. My father's hair had been silver for years. It returned to dark brown, as did all the hair on his body. My mother lost pounds and inches! Our dog was given the tea for 10 years. This dog lived to the age of 17.2 years! He had to serious health problems and still had good vision. Making Kombucha tea is a little work and requires a dedicated routine but, I am convinced it is worth it for the long haul. I am very hopeful that my health will improve and maybe I can eventually reduce the amount of medication I am on. I am excited to be starting this healthful habit once again!... D.K."

Kombucha Tea is not a drug. The FDA has stated that this remarkable tea to be a safe beverage if it is prepared properly in a clean way so as not to be contaminated by pathogens. Any food that you make can become contaminated but the risk is probably less for Kombucha as it is a fermented drink which as it ferments it makes a small amount of alcohol which protects the tea from obnoxious pathogens.

Nobody has ever died from drinking properly made Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for over two millennium. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but some few people could be sensitive to any number of different things. An allergic is usually just a reddening of the skin or a minor.

Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you were to large amounts of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking large amounts of anything is usually not a wise thing to do.
