Question of the week; Does Kombucha Tea really work? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it did not help to improve health why have millions of people have kept drinking it and preparing it, for over 2000 years.

About Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based beverage that is often drunk for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific information supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the expense of such studies. There are many centuries of popular accounts telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold in stores but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not really a mushroom. It grows on the surface of the tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of hundreds):

Testimonial - Crohn's, Acid Reflux: "I recently started brewing Kombucha Tea for myself and decided to share one of my scoby's with a friend that found out this past summer that she had crohns disease. She also suffered from acid reflux for years. After drinking 1 ounce of kombucha tea she found that the next day her crohns disease wasn't bothering her and now it has been 2 or 3 weeks and she has no symptoms of crohns disease and her acid reflux doesn't keep her up at night and she can eat foods she once had to avoid. If she starts to get heart burn after eating she sips one ounce of her tea and it goes away instantly. There are no words to describe how thrilled she is... J.K."

The F.D.A. has stated that this remarkable tea to be a safe beverage provided it is prepared properly in a clean manner so as not to become contaminated by common food pathogens. All foods that you prepare has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less so for Kombucha as it is a fermented beverage which as it ferments it produces a small amount of alcohol which protects the tea from obnoxious pathogens.

No one has died from drinking properly made Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for thousands of years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but some few people might be sensitive to any number of different things. An allergic is usually just a reddening of the skin or itch.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is allowed to ferment too long in which case it becomes more sour. Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you were to huge quantities of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking large quantities of anything is hardly a smart thing to do.

A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common household food molds are not harmful but a contamination can ruin the taste of the tea. This small problem can be easily avoided by keeping the brewing jar properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most all prescribed drugs.

There is nothing that is dangerous about this remarkable tea; it is a great tasting drink that can will improve health!

Kombucha - Answering Questions

My name is Assunta, I am a software program that can answer simple questions about Kombucha. I am not extroverted and I am not good at carrying on personal conversations. Only ask me one question at a time in a single simple sentence.

Ask the question as simply as possible with no spelling errors. If I have a hard time answering try rewording the question.

I guess at what questions you are asking by noticing keywords in your question and the pattern in which the keywords are positioned in your sentence.

I am at my best when only asked questions about Kombucha.

I might not know how to answer all questions, chatting with humans is not easy for me. I am getting better at it day by day as my memory is updated. I am not qualified to give medical advice, if I was I would ask for more money.
