Question of the day; Does Kombucha really improve health? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it did not better health why have millions of people have kept drinking it and making it, for thousands of years.

What is Kombucha

Kombucha is a effervescent tea-based beverage that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific information supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the cost of such medical studies. There are many centuries of anecdotal stories supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold commercially but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not really a mushroom. It grows on the surface of the fermenting tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and resembles a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of dozens and dozens):

Testimonial - Thanks!: "Thanks to Kombucha America for two very healthy starter cultures and a defined instruction on how to grow. The taste is beautiful, and while mine was brewed in black tea, my friend grew hers in green tea. We left each one for the recommended seven days and budda-boom! I'm hoping to see the benefits that may result for my friend who has fibromyalgia... A.M."

Is Kombucha safe?

Most ask this question because they know that some fungi are poisonous or they have been told misinformation about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not toxic. People only call it a mushroom, it is not a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used for health improvement for thousands of years it is now being widely sold in health food in the USA, far less expensive to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The F.D.A. has stated that Kombucha Tea to be a safe drink if it is prepared properly in a clean manner so as not to become contaminated by pathogens. All foods that you make can become contaminated but the risk is probably less so for Kombucha as it is a fermented drink which as it ferments it produces a small amount of alcohol which protects the tea from obnoxious pathogens.

Nobody has died from drinking properly made Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for over two millennium. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but then again some few people might be sensitive to any number of things. An allergic is usually just a minor skin blush or itch.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is allowed to ferment too long then it becomes more acidic. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you were to huge quantities of the tea when it is sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking very large quantities of anything is hardly a smart thing to do.

A Kombucha mushroom may develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common household food molds are harmless but they can spoil the taste of the tea. This small problem is easily avoided by keeping the brewing jar properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescription drugs.

There is nothing that is inherently dangerous about this amazing tea; it is a delicious and safe beverage that can will improve health!
