Man does not live by soap alone; and hygiene, or even health, is not much good unless you can take a healthy view of it or, better still, feel a healthy indifference to it. Gilbert K. Chesterton

Question of the week; Does Kombucha really improve health? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it did not help to improve health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and making it, for over two thousand years.

What is Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based beverage that is often drunk for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific info supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the expense of such studies. There are many centuries of anecdotal accounts supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is available commercially but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also often popularly referred to as the "mushroom" but it is not really a mushroom. It slowly forms on the surface of the fermenting tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and looks like a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of a large number):

Testimonial - Probiotic - Stomach: "This tea tastes amazing! I just made my first batch and I'm drinking it so fast I'm going to actually have to make a bigger batch next time. It's balancing out my gut and I'm noticing less sugar cravings than usual. I'm lovin' that! It's only been a few days so I"ll have to update later on other noticeable improvements. This company's attention to detail with how to brew the tea, etc is impeccable, I can't appreciate that enough! Thank you so much!... Should I be worried about the safety of Kombucha?

Most ask this question because are aware that some mushrooms are toxic or they have been told misinformation about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom and it is not poisonous. People only call it a mushroom, it is not a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used for health improvement for over 2000 years it is now being widely sold in health food in the U.S., far less expensive to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The FDA has stated that Kombucha Tea to be a safe beverage if it is correctly prepared in a clean way so as not to become contaminated by common food pathogens. All foods that you make can become contaminated but the risk is probably less for Kombucha because it is a fermented drink and as it ferments it produces a small amount of alcohol which helps to protect the tea against pathogens.

No person has ever died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for over 2000 years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but then again some few people could be allergic to any number of things. A reaction is usually just a skin reddening or itch.

The tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is permitted to ferment too long then it becomes more acidic. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you drink huge quantities of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking very large amounts of anything is usually not a wise thing to do.

A Kombucha mushroom could develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common household food molds are not harmful but they can ruin the taste of the tea. This limited problem can be easily prevented by keeping the fermenting tea properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescribed medications.

There is nothing that is inherently dangerous about this beneficial beverage; it is a delicious and safe beverage that can can improve your health!
