Question of the day; Does Kombucha really work? Answer is...Yes! If it didn't improve health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and making it, for thousands of years.

Description of Kombucha

Kombucha is a effervescent tea-based drink that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific data supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the cost of such medical studies. There are many centuries of popular stories telling of health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold commercially but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a spongy mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This produces the kombucha culture which is also referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not really a mushroom. It slowly grows on the surface of the fermenting tea during the period of time the tea is fermenting and resembles a near whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of a large number):

Testimonial - General Health: "The old adage of "If it seems too good to be true then it is" generally is a wise one, particularly in these times. However, if there ever was an exception to prove the rule then KOMBUCHA is it! Whatever drug company or medical agency say to disclaim the wonders of this boon to humanity only strengthens my resolve to educate people.

My own success story is a testament to the validity and wonder of this blessed little "mushroom.

Recently aired on PBS was an episode of "Dr Zorba Pasta on your Health", normally reliable to give straight talk on things medical he blew it big time. Taking a call from someone who had heard about the wonders of a "Chinese Mushroom" thereby describing the Kombucha miracle, he responded with "I have never heard of anything like this before, please dismiss it, it is valueless. The singular point to this is that he has talked about the Kombucha twice before over the last few years and in both instances devalued it without any reason or research or case studies. This is what the main problem is, ignorance and misleading information, plus the medical profession and particularly the drug companies concerned for their billions of ill-gotten gains.

Believe it people, I would not live without this product... W.E.G.

Should I be worried about the safety of Kombucha?

Most ask this question because they know that some mushrooms are poisonous or they have been told misinformation about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not toxic. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha Tea has been used for health improvement for thousands of years it is now being sold in food and health in the USA, far less expensive to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The FDA has stated that this remarkable tea to be a safe beverage if it is correctly prepared in a clean way so as not to become contaminated by common food pathogens. Any food that you make has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less so for Kombucha as it is a fermented drink which as it ferments it produces a small amount of alcohol which protects the tea from obnoxious pathogens.

Nobody has died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for thousands of years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but then again some few people may be sensitive to any number of different things. An allergic is usually just a minor skin blush or a minor.

The tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is permitted to ferment too long then it becomes more acidic. Drinking Kombucha Tea cannot change the pH level of your blood unless you drink huge amounts of the tea when it is very sour, this would not be a smart thing to do, drinking huge quantities of anything is usually not a good idea.

A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common household food molds are not harmful but a contamination can ruin the taste of the tea. This limited problem is easily prevented by keeping the brewing jar properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescription medications.

There is nothing that is naturally dangerous about this beneficial beverage; it is a delicious and safe beverage that can will improve health!

Kombucha Tea - How I Answer Questions

I am Assunta, I am a software program that can answer questions about Kombucha. I am shy and I am not good at carrying on personal conversations. Only ask me one question at a time in a single simple sentence.

Ask the question as simply as possible without spelling errors. If I cannot answer correctly just try rewording the question.

I guess at what you are asking by noticing keywords in your question and the pattern in which the keywords appears in your question.

I perform best when only asked questions about Kombucha.

I cannot know how to answer all questions, communicating with humans is not easy for me. I am getting better at it day by day as my memory is updated. I am not qualified to give medical advice, if I was I would ask for a raise.
