Question of the week; Does Kombucha really improve health? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it did not help to improve health why have millions of people have kept drinking it and brewing it, for over two thousand years.

What is Kombucha

Kombucha is a carbonated tea-based drink that millions drink for its health benefits or medicinal purposes. There is scientific info supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies are being conducted mainly due to the expense of such studies. There are several centuries of anecdotal stories supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold in stores but can easily be made at home by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also most commonly referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not really a mushroom. It forms on the surface of the fermenting tea while the tea is fermenting and resembles a whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of a large number):

Testimonial - General Health, Gray Hair: "I was first introduced to KM Tea in 1994 by a white-haired smoker who I happened to play a monthly round of golf with over the course of that spring, summer and fall. About the second round, he started yapping on and on about Kombucha tea, how his emphazima was going away, and about all the people he knew whose health problems were going away, ect. Then one evening I was watching TV when my favorite local Newslady, Linda Cavenaugh in Oklahoma City was interviewing two ladies who had been in poor health for years until finding Kombucha Tea. Now they were enjoying life again and thrilled to be back in their gardens.

What next caught my attention was that the color of my golfing companion's hair had started to take on a slight reddish blush. When I asked, he said he had been a redhead.

I brought my first KM back from Oklahoma that fall and have been drinking it nearly every day since then. When traveling, I take some in tightly sealed containers in my checked luggage or buy some at conscious food stores.

I have noticed many people whose comments indicate that they drink 16-24 ounces per day. I have been drinking about 6-8 ounces per day with great results. During the past 13 years, there have been only two days when I didn't feel like going to work.

I started drinking KMT when I was 50 and have about the same amount of gray hair now that I did then. After I was on the Tea for about 6 months, my longtime hair stylist asked if I was dying my hair. When I told her about the KMT, she said that a lady client of hers had started the Tea and after 2 years had gone from mainly grey to mainly brown.

For me the main benefits have been not getting sick, having more energy now than I did in my 30s and 40s, and knowing that I will never get cancer. In the past 10 years, I have had health insurance but have never had a claim, other than for tests... Kombucha Tea safe?

Most ask this question because are aware that some mushrooms are toxic or they have been misinformed about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom it is not poisonous. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha has been used for health improvement for thousands of years it is now being sold in food and health in the U.S., it is a lot cheaper to make it yourself.

The tea does improve health but it is not a drug. The F.D.A. has stated that Kombucha Tea to be a safe beverage provided it is correctly prepared in a clean manner so as not to be contaminated by pathogens. All foods that you prepare has a risk of contamination but the risk is probably less for Kombucha as it is a fermented drink and as it ferments it makes a small amount of alcohol which protects the tea from obnoxious pathogens.

No one has ever died from drinking properly prepared Kombucha Tea and millions drink the tea daily and have done so for thousands of years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented beverage and , but then again some few people might be allergic to any number of different things. A reaction is usually just a reddening of the skin or a minor.

The tea is acidic but no more so than grapefruit juice or orange juice, unless it is allowed to ferment too long then it becomes more acidic. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you drink large quantities of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking large quantities of anything is usually not a wise thing to do.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom might develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common such molds are harmless but they can spoil the taste of the tea. This limited problem is easily prevented by keeping the fermenting tea properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most prescription medications.

There is nothing that is dangerous about this remarkable tea; it is a delicious and safe beverage that can help to improve health!

Kombucha - How I Answer Questions

I am Assunta, I am a software program that can answer simple questions about Kombucha. I am shy and not good at carrying on causal conversations. Only ask me 1 question at a time within a single statement.

Ask the question as simply as possible with no spelling errors. If I do not answer correctly just try rephrasing the question or try just using subject keywords.

I guess at what you are asking by noticing keywords in your question and the pattern in which the keywords show up in your sentence.

I perform best when you only ask questions about Kombucha.

I may not know how to answer all questions, communicating with humans is not easy for me. Each day my memory is updated and I am getting better at doing my job. I am not qualified to give medical advice, if I was I would ask for a raise.
