Question of the week; Does Kombucha really work? Answer is...It absolutely does! If it did not better health why would millions of people have kept drinking it and preparing it, for over two thousand years.

About Kombucha

Kombucha is a invigorating tea-based beverage that many drink for its health benefits or medicinal reasons. There is scientific information supporting health benefits but unfortunately few studies or have been conducted mainly due to the cost of such studies. There are several centuries of anecdotal stories supporting health benefits attributed to the tea. Kombucha is sold commercially but can easily be prepared by fermenting tea using a solid mass of yeast and bacteria often nicknamed a SCOBY. This forms the kombucha culture which is also most often referred to as the "mushroom" although it is not a true mushroom. It slowly forms on the surface of the fermenting tea while the tea is fermenting and looks like a near whitish colored pancake.

Testimonial (Just one of numerous):

Testimonial - Multiple Sclorosis, Energy, Sleep: "I'm am just writing to let you know that I have been drinking the tea now for one week. I have Multiple Sclorosis. Having to take a shot everyday has been painful. I haven't had a shot in a week since drinking the tea. I had been wanting to take a break but my body kept telling me that it wasn't ready. Since I have been drinking the tea I'm in a better mood, I have more energy, and best of all I have been able to sleep at night. I will definately let you know how I am doing as the weeks go on. By me drinking this tea hopefully I will get a little bit of my life back. I hate being so sore that my kids can't hug me... Should I be worried about the safety of Kombucha?

Most ask this question because they know that some fungi are poisonous or they have been told misinformation about Kombucha. Kombucha is not a mushroom and it is not poisonous. It is only "popularly" called a mushroom.

Kombucha Tea has been used for health improvement for over 2000 years it is now being sold in health shops and grocery stores in the U.S., far less expensive to make it yourself.

Kombucha Tea is not a drug. The F.D.A. has stated that Kombucha Tea to be a safe drink if it is prepared properly in a clean manner so as not to become contaminated by pathogens. Any food that you prepare can become contaminated but the risk is probably less for Kombucha as it is a fermented beverage and as it ferments it creates a small amount of alcohol which helps to protect the tea against pathogens.

No person has ever died from drinking correctly prepared Kombucha Tea and yet millions of people daily drink this remarkable beverage and have done so for over 2000 years. One thousand people a year die from taking aspirin, so which do you think is safer!

Kombucha Tea is a fermented drink and , but then again some few people may be allergic to any number of things. An allergic is usually just a skin reddening or itch.

Kombucha Tea is acidic but no more so than wine, orange juice, or grapefruit juice, unless it is allowed to ferment longer and to a more sour state. Drinking Kombucha Tea wil not change the pH level of your blood unless you were to large quantities of the tea when it is very sour, this would be foolish to do, drinking large quantities of anything is usually not a good idea.

Rarely A Kombucha mushroom may develop a mold but this is not likely. Most common food molds are harmless but they can ruin the taste of the tea. This limited problem is easily prevented by keeping the fermenting tea properly coveredKombucha is not known to counteract negatively with most all prescription drugs.

There is nothing that is inherently dangerous about this amazing tea; it is a delicious and safe beverage that can help to improve your health!
